Meet the Owner: From the Field to the Firehouse

I’ve spent the better part of my life in the seat of a tractor or a skid loader. Growing up in the world of agriculture, I spent years farming and operating heavy equipment full-time. That background taught me two things: the value of a hard day’s work and exactly what it takes to manage a piece of land correctly.

In 2023, my career path shifted when I was hired as a full-time firefighter. While my daily uniform changed, my passion for the Iowa outdoors and my love for operating machinery never left. I founded BML Land Management to bring those two worlds together.

With thousands of hours of seat time in skid loaders and forestry mulchers, I don’t just "clear brush"—I understand the land. My farming background gives me a unique edge in food plot installation; I understand soil health, seedbed preparation, and what it takes to make a plot thrive.

I started this business with a specific mission: to make professional-grade land management accessible to the "little guy." Many large excavation firms won't look at a project unless it’s dozens of acres. I’m here for the private landowners, the hunters, and the small-scale operators who want to improve their property and enjoy the outdoors without the massive corporate price tag.
